🍔 ALSO, SERIOUSLY, WHY IS THERE A UNICODE SYMBOL FOR A CHEESEBURGER?
[ You come to in a dark place. You no longer feel the pain of your death, but then, you don't feel much of anything right now. As your consciousness fades in, you realize it's because there's nothing to feel. You are a disembodied spirit. ]

[ You come to realize that you are in a hotel. The living cannot see or hear you, but with effort, you may be able to manipulate nearby objects. ]

[ Once you step through the door on the stage, you find yourself in a cheesy, medieval-themed hotel. It's comfortable, though, and robotic bellboys will bring you any kind of food you might care to order, and you can watch the game on your TV. It's just too bad there's no exit. ]

CHARACTER APPABILITY:

💣 This is a private-ish PSL. Anybody on XL's Plurk timeline may play as well as invite friends.

💣 You can play up to two characters

💣 The only characters not allowed are post-game/CRAU UNLESS they were in the first iteration of the Newlydead Game. If they were, assume they spent some time in their home world. If the character died in the first game, they were revived in a clone body with McDonalds and KFC logos branded onto their right shoulder via a change in skin pigmentation.

💣 If a character needs accommodation it will be provided (if they're dead, if they don't have a corporeal form, need to be shrunk down or given human form, etc). Beyond that, all supernatural or superhuman powers are nerfed (either turned off completely or turned comedically incompetent).

PREMISE

This game is played in weekly cycles, with two IC days per week. Sat-Sun is one IC day, Mon-Fri is the other. Every week, the characters must vote on who they want to keep safe.

Over the weekends, characters engage in CR-building minigames. The round's votes will be distributed amongs the participants, with winners getting more votes than the other participants, and non-participants getting no votes at all.

ACTIVITY

I expect people to 1) vote and 2) be present in at least one of the public posts every week. If you need to skip a week or a vote, TELL ME and I will work with you! Otherwise, I might well have to MURDER you. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Also! Because the weekend events are how votes are distributed, it's very much in your best interests to participate.

ARRIVAL

Whatever your characters were doing, they suddenly feel dizzy. If they're lucky, they'll be able to sit down before they lose consciousness. When they awaken, they are in their own personal dressing room (see Settings). Characters arrive with whatever was on their person at the time. A pet may also be present in the dressing room. If said character, items, or pet had powers, they have now been nerfed.

They are also given a small tablet that lets them look up character profiles and vote. It's got an intuitive interface and will not break easily, even for the kind of person who loves spilling things and dropping electronics on the floor. Should a character manage to break their tablet, however, a replacement will be provided in their dressing room. You can also borrow another character's tablet! It will automatically log into the account of whoever's holding it and not give away a vote to anyone else.

As they get their bearings, a voice recording will explain:

1. The basic premise of the game
2. What prizes they stand to win
3. The fact that they are not to speak of their prize to anyone, and in fact if they try to do it nothing will come out.
4. The following voting mechanics:

VOTING MECHANICS

❃ All active players must make a vote each week
❃ A valid vote must name an active player
❃ You may NOT vote for yourself
❃ You may NOT vote for the same character twice in a row
❃ You may change your vote as many times as you please up until the deadline (though it is advised you plan your strategies well before that)

VOTING RESULTS

❃ Whoever receives ZERO votes will be killed
❃ Whoever receives the MOST votes will receive their consolation prize and be sent to the hotel
❃ Voting results will be provided, but the voters will remain anonymous
❃ The final five will win their grand prizes, at which point all living contestants will be returned to their home
After you died, your consciousness returns slowly. Physical sensation does not. This is largely because you no longer have a physical body.

You come to realize that you are in a hotel. The living cannot see or hear you, though they may note the occasional cold spot when you pass them by. If you put your mind to it, you may be able to flicker the lights or knock a pen off a table.

One more thing. If you should happen to catch Ronald and the Colonel on any of the televisions here, you'll see that the canned audience sounds that sometimes surround them aren't canned at all - in fact, there's a full studio audience there with them.

They just happen to be ghosts, like you.

[ Fancy rooms, fancy beds, just about any kind of food or entertainment items you could possibly want delivered to your door by the robotic bellboy. You can watch the game being played on your TV. And the views? Just fantastic. You are underwater, after all.

Leave your room and you'll find magnificent lounges, a gym, a spa, a huge saltwater pool that seems to be fed from somewhat filtered ocean water. Everything but an exit. ]

PREMISE

Characters have been granted the fantastic opportunity to participate in America's greatest TV show! They are offered something they want more than anything. This is their grand prize, but only if they can make it to the end.

GAME FLOW

This game is played in weekly cycles, with two IC days per week. Monday - Friday are the first IC day, Sat-Sun serve as the second.

From M-F, characters are tasked with voting who they want to remove from the game. They may also be given optional CR-building minigames to work on throughout the course of the week. Rewards may be offered for exceptional performance, such as immunity for that week's vote. Each week's poll will be up sometime before Monday and close on Friday, 6pm PST, at which point I will freeze the post and tally things up.

Saturday and Sunday are the "off" day; nothing will be scheduled to allow characters to have fallout threads and begin scheming for the next day. MINIGAMES

ACTIVITY

There will be rewards for high activity, but I will not punish low activity as long as you are around a little each week and remember to vote (you are encouraged to make placeholders early if you think it may become a concern).

My only request is that if you need to miss a week or skip a vote, please tell me. I am happy to work with you, but if you don't communicate, then I'm just gonna have to murder you.

ALSO! If you are going to have to miss a vote/weekend entirely for whatever reason, let me know in advance and I can find an IC excuse to give your character immunity for that round, since it's no fun to croak while you're AFK. I trust you guys not to take advantage of this!

❃ Whoever has the most votes each round will win a personalized consolation prize and spend the remainder of the game a fabulous luxury suite!

❃ Ties will usually be broken via random selection
